I have an 8830 an have been waiting for the official update. Tried getting a storm but after Verizon wouldn't let me because I have 3 months left on my exisitng contract I figured I would wait until the hype dies and they are cheaper anyway. In the mean time....

I have looked everywhere for the release and even saw a update on Viigo that it was out - much to my dismay I can't find it! Does ANYONE know when this will be finally OFFICALLY out ?

There is no officially released OS 4.5 for the 8830 as of this writing. If you check the 8830 forum, you will find a lot of discussion about whether it will ever be released, since the 8830 is nearing the end of its time in the product line.

Yah the highest that phone will most likely see is going to be version 4.2.2.196 at least on vzw

The original question was regarding the 8830. You have a different phone, for which OS4.5 has been officially released.

You might have misunderstood them. Verizon allows customers four months from there contract end date to upgrade to a new phone. For single lines or primary lines, its the NE2.
