Ok - so basic question here:

When I am viewing my mailbox on my 8330 am I viewing the messages that are downloaded to the handheld or the mailbox on my email server?

Its just weird that if i receive it appears on my BB and will stay for a few hours but if i read it on my PC it goes away.

My company does not have BB integration into the mail server.

i notice this when I book flights and my itinerary goes to my BB. I check it and say "cool, now i just need to print" So i go to my PC and open the mail to print AND move the message to my itinerary folder. Later i go back to my BB to show someone the flights and the email is gone....

    email settings on BB are:
    delete on: prompt
    wireless reconcile: on
    on conflicts: mailbox wins

on my PC i do not leave a copy of messages on the server because i pretty much save all correspondance to/from clients and coworkers for future reference of projects and i would fill up my quota

If you move the email to a seperate folder on your PC I believe it disappears from the BB with the reconcile because it's no longer in the main inbox. The bb thinks you deleted it, because it doesn't read the other folders.

i thought that was the case too so i ran a little test in which i moved the email, hit reconcile now on the BB, closed the app and reopened it but the mail was still there. This AM it was gone (maybe it just took awhile).

so the solution would probably to turn off reconciliation? would that also mean my BB wouldnt check the mailbox unless told to?

I think im on BIS as im under the impression that BES is the one that works with exchange servers and we arent running one. Our company doesnt issue BBs but it has been the personal choice of myself and a few other colleagues.

You could also try resending your service books while you're in there.

I've tried to enter the BIS site once before and then again today at your suggestion. When I try to register for a new acct using my pin/esn(dec) im told an account already exists but i personally didnt set one up.

When I bought my phone though, the girl that set me up did disappear to the back to activate and transfer my existing data over.

I tried to request the PW via my pin on the website and the message sent to my BB tells me that username and password dont exist and to access via the device. ill have to research how to do that.

Nice, happens sometimes. You are enrolled when you add an email account to the BIS through your handset, but sometimes it lets you skip the actual login, don't really know why. Call VZW customer service and they can give you your user name (usually first letter of your first name and full last name then number 1) and can give you a temp password.

Short answer It is on your E-mail Providers Server until it is removed.
When you access e-mail from your PC the default setting is to download the messages from the Provider Server and onto your PC making it unavailable to your BB account. If you go into the advanced settings for your e-mail on your PC there is a setting for allowing the messages to remain on your providers e-mail server and I think you can specify how long they will remain after you read them or leave them on until you want to delete them. I use this to keep all my e-mails on the Server except for one profile on my main computer so I have one place where I can find ALL the e-mails otherwise they will be scattered on many different computers and I might miss something important because they were off loaded to a different computer. I hope this makes sense and if not let me know and I will do a step by step for you. (I use Outlook 2003 but Outlook express also allows this feature) I think you already know most of this but some may not so I apologize if it is over simplistic.
