What's the draw of BB Messenger?
- I know this is one of the more popular features of the BB, but I don't really get it. It could be because I have an unlimited text plan, or because no one else I know uses a BB, but still, what's the advantage of using Messenger instead of sending a text or using an IM program like Beejive?
(The BBM just seems so restrictive to me, since it necessarily doesn't include just anyone you may want to chat with.)07-06-09 11:05 AMLike 0 - I know this is one of the more popular features of the BB, but I don't really get it. - SevereDeceitSDIt also makes SMS seem ancient, plus the ability to see if the contact i'm speaking to is on the phone, slow to answer messages, etc. There is virtually no delay when the message is sent...07-06-09 11:33 AMLike 0
- The advantage of bb messenger is that it can
be used by someone to send messages, audio,
or pictures to someone else who has a bb in another
country without incuring international fees.
This is beneficial to corporations
As a use for a intranent, a private network that uses internet
technology to share any part of an organization's
info or operational systems to others in the company.
The benefits for a corporation are endless:

- Actuallyyyy...I think it does it automatically now. I had a Storm and needed a replacement because it broke and that obviously means a new PIN. Well, I just took my new Storm, restored a backup from my old one on Desktop Manager and voila! My BBM contacts were able to message me without even knowing about my PIN change.07-06-09 01:02 PMLike 0

- I don't see any big advantage over using gtalk though.
With google you get time stamps. BB doesn't do this for some reason.07-06-09 01:12 PMLike 0 -
- When you restore BBM contacts from an old phone to a new one, that should
be done first and then changing your PIN on BIS and it will automatically
update on everyone else's end.
I switch between an 8900 and Bold constantly and that's what I do each and
every time. I had a problem one time because I realized that I did a restore
after I updated the PIN. The restore and then the PIN change gives it new
info to push.07-06-09 01:29 PMLike 0 -
advantage.
One can easily insert a time stamp in bb,
by typing the letters lt followed by spacebar
and 2:31:35 PM will be displayed.

but that does accurately explain why users are either hot or cold on BBM.07-06-09 01:52 PMLike 0 - I can speak to some people who are currently at work or don't use MSN all the time. Sometimes I find MSN a bit of a hassle when i want to talk to someone, I prefer BB messenger.07-07-09 06:46 AMLike 0
