Despite our most delightful optimism, this might well be a possibility in the coming days and weeks and months, in which case, what would be your next course of action?

As for me, I'm using Blackberry phones as long they still make them!

Depends... Just because it gets sold doesn't mean it necessarily stops making phones.

As long as they continue to make phones with BlackBerry 10, I'll continue to use them.

Worst case scenario, I'll pick up a cheap winmo off contract to try out. In the mean time I still have a Z on tmo and a 9850 on vzw. Not like they will just stop working if bbry goes under.

Note the phrasing of my words: would you still buy Blackberry products if they went under a different brand name? Or when they become like Motorola, under a parent company but still operating with a large amount of autonomy?

As long as the OS is blackberry, I don't care what phone it runs on, whoever is buying BlackBerry, it wont be because of the hardware anyways!

I will do exactly what I have always done. Buy what serves my needs in a smartphone irrespective of whose name is on the device or what OS it runs. If that is BlackBerry (in whatever form) then that's that. If not I will move along. Sadly, this seems to be a difficult concept for many.

Unless someone physically yanks my zed out of my hands, I will continue to use it during its serviceable life. I choose to be a BlackBerry user because the phone/OS excel in areas that suit my needs.

I would think I would continue to use my Z10. It is not like it will stop working. The only app I wish that BlackBerry had was a native Google+ app. Other than that, I have equivalents for all the apps I used on Android. When I was on Android, I only added on app in my second year with the phone (a new Tasks app) but other than that my app collection stayed static. So basically, even if app development stops or slows down, I have what I need for the foreseeable future.

Depends if they'll continue to improve the OS. It's current state fits me enough right now but once technology advances, I hope the new owner will advance the phones OS and keep innovating.

Depends on what the new owner commits to in terms of BlackBerry 10. If there appears to be determination to push on with updating BlackBerry 10 then that's good enough for me. If it were apparent BlackBerry 10 would be EOL'ed I'd probably check out windows phone more in depth. But I have a feeling I'd probably just go with something more mass market.

If that new device does not have the essence of what it is to be a BlackBerry, branding notwithstanding, then I will make a beeline for the G'zOne series once my current device decides its time.
