    ...a blackberry case? I've been considering painting mine, or a duplicate. I kinda want the bragging rights of saying, "I did it myself."

    What method works best and what type of paint? Airbrushing? Model paint? Any ideas?

    Any hardware store sells spray paint for plastic. Rough up the plastic and paint away. You might want to consider getting some 600-1200 grit sand paper and wet sanding between coats.
