My understanding is that PP is 3.0 capable but not with the microUSB provided in box.

It means faster data transfer. To or fro PC or USB OTG.

Probably not, I doubt that BB10 can read or write from persistent storage anywhere near fast enough for USB connection to be the bottleneck.

The question he asked is what is the meaning of those usb 2.0 and 3.0.
Obviously one of the attributes of newer usb3.0 is faster data transfer.
Obviously in the term of Passport, I did experience 15-20mb/s data transfer to and fro my laptop. Which is faster than what I experienced when I was using Z30 before.

Just adding context. USB 2 has a maximum bulk transfer rate of 480 megabits/s and USB 3 starts at 5 gigabits/s. I hope you are talking about megabytes per second transfer rates or things are worse than I would have expected.

When one talks about data transfers, one always mention in mb as in megabytes instead of megabits. We bought a 32Mbytes devices aren't we? And we have micro SD cards with 32Mbytes as well, no?

So, definitely I was referring to data transfer speeds that we see on the lap top screen everytime we do files or movie transfers.

I was talking about transfer rates because that is the relevant measure for USB 2 versus USB 3.
Transfer rates are typically measured in megabits per second (Mb/s).
It would not be incorrect however to measure them in
    megabytes per second (MB/s).

You seem to be confusing storage capacity with transfer rate.

    Sure whatever floats your boat.
I wouldn't want you to think I was nitpicking.
Lets not even mention Mebibits and Mebibytes.
