What RIM could do to push innovation and increase its relevance.

We've seen the QNX integrated Bentley. Since BB10 runs on QNX, they should release a small device or something that connects to regular cars screens and has full BBM integration, BB Traffic, email and now that RIM has partnered with 7digital for streaming media, the device could stream movies and things too. Many business executives would love to have their BB easily and safely accessible while driving. Lots of folk would like the streaming media and BBM, email etc too. I think Thorsten Heins did allude to something like this, which is good to hear that they are pushing with innovation and not just slowing down like Apple has.

Thorsten's ultimate goal is to have Research In Motion exit the smartphone market and focus solely on in-vehicle infotainment systems through partnerships with the automotive industry.

I see what you did there.

The media in our cars shuts down all video when in drive. Two important notes should be added, this can easily be customized to NTSB regulations and easily by-passed by an educated person.

What about back seat tablets?

RIM could leverage its QNX platform to get the deepest, cleanest widespread integration with cars and be first to it or rather much earlier at it. That alone could be a significant reason for busy folk to switch to BB or stay on it, eating away a chunk of iOS and Android's market share.
