I am a new BB owner and do not know all the ins and outs of my phone yet.
I read in another post that by holding ALT and pressing LGLG you can clear your logs. What is this for? Do you delete all of it? Will anything happen to my pics, emails, ringers etc??

Thanks for any info you can give me!!

You will be fine, the event log keeps a log of everything you do on your device, this takes up memory to do this. Mine does not even log, the event log is simply a diagnostic tool that can be completely removed from the OS if you wish...

SD, you are correct on the memory usage issue, but as far as the phone not creating a log, NO.

Even if you delete the eventlog viewer the log will still be created.
Install and run CrackUtil by Pete6 and you'll see what I mean.

I think I was one of the first people to post the info that deleting the
eventlog was a good idea. I have since come to understand that
    my supposition was incorrect.

It is. My point was, that no matter what steps you take the log will
always be created, therefore as a basic housekeeping routine it is a good
    idea to clear it.

I THINK there is a utility program that automates the clearing of the log called memaid or something like that.

That stops the event log from displaying the device's activity... but I does it actually stop the device from logging events? I think it just hides the events, they still exist and you still would have to clear them, I believe. Correct me if I'm wrong

I have done some testing with Event Log. The log file is a fixed size, about 200 Kb. New events replace old events to keep the file a constant size.

It doesn't hurt to purge the file, but in a couple days, the file will recover back to it's fixed size. 200 Kb is hardly worth the effort.
