Is this possible to do? Since bb10 is a touch interface, is it possible to have it running in GPS systems in vehicles?

I know this will never happen, just a thought.

What would it do that existing newer systems already do?

QNX runs in some cars, and it does the full graphical interface is a few of those.... that's really all a car needs.

BB10 didn't really do much with GPS.... the mapping was all done by others.

I think that would be cool to see, I see a lot of cars now that get fitted with ipads as the touch interface for specific things in the car. If I could I would make a Porsche that had a blackberry playbook as the UI for controls using bridge to connect my blackberry phone to the car and so forth! lol

What if bb10 ran on latest specs? Probably would be way faster than other OS in the market.

It cracks me up... car makers license QNX, from Blackberry, and only request IOS and Android compatibility for the vehicle infotainment systems. That speaks volumes right there, but so few get it.

That's QNX... not BB10 specifically. By the sound of things OP wants the friggin Hub and Lithuanian support on his car stereo.

Saying BB10 is the same as the QNX running on cars is like saying Android is the same thing as Debian or Ubuntu running on servers.

Nobody's failing to understand anything here, except for OP.

Would be cool, if nothing but from a hobby standpoint.

But I seriously thought this was going to be one of those BB10 joke threads with a car theme and lots of burnouts...

What I meant was they are using BB's OS kernel but never considered supporting BlackBerry's OS in their cars.

I'm honestly not sure what would happen. If anything, it would likely offer better connectivity for BlackBerry 10 users.

So how long would this car last for? One year if that? Would it have to run off APK's just to start the engine? :P Remember that if something goes wrong, we'll get "support" about two years later after the vehicle has been thrown out.
