The phone is erasing all it's data. As far as I know, there have no incidents reported of BB's doing this without a user initiating it. Wait for it to complete, go through setup and restore from a recent backup if you have one.

If you mean your data/information, no, a security wipe deletes everything on the phone and SD card if one is in the phone at the time. If you do not have a backup that means you will not be able to recover any data. The last resort of course is to try and get a warranty replacement

Honestly I dont even know how warranty is gonna help with backups and recovery, unless you are referring to the phone itself staying in that state.

    To op:
If it stays like that hook your phone to computer and use blackberry link and do a complete
factory restore from there. If issue continues to persist, contact BlackBerry or any retailer store you got your phone from and claim a warranty

That's a security wipe. Your phone simply can't cause that own it's own. You are required to type "Blackberry" to confirm that wipe. As stated above, once it's done, back it up.

it does look like a security wipe. It is impossible for that to unintentionally happen, as it requires quite a few steps that have VERY clear warnings. Somebody must have had their hands on your phone.

It shouldn't do a security wipe after an update. That's weird
