I was in a Vodafone UK shop last week and without asking, the salesman told me they will be here in a couple of months LOL.

Prolly a couple of months after they're meant to come out in Q3 / Q4 2012

I am in a dilemma too. Got a renewal this February, 9900 is interesting, but with so many battery life issues, might be time to give the Iphone a think.....BB10 is too far away, and who knows with the way RIM is going...

If it is in good shape, then yes possibly. Though the OS 7 devices are very nice. I have a Bold 9930 and a Torch 9850. Both awesome. I am sure there are some good condition OS 7 devices for sale on ebay if you need something to tide you over.

    What do you have?

If you wait for bb10 you will always be waiting for the next phone, same goes with iphone, people may say your better off waiting for the next one. My opinion is go for the bold 9790, no major differences with the 9900, however the 9790 has a better battery life. Ive looked at so many opinions of the 9790, and it got my vote, so i ordered mine, which will be ready for me to collect from store on tuesday

The 9790 looks great. There is something to be said for the "classic" Bold form factor. There is something so perfect about the size and feel. With the 9790 you get all the OS 7 goodies, the fast hardware, and that classic Bold form factor.

I totally agree, cant wait to get my hands on my one, i felt that the 9900 is a tad in the big side, the moment i knew the 9790 was released on vodafone uk, i had to get it. They took long enough about it too.

I agree. I got my hands on a 9850 about a month ago and it is sweet. I don't get a lotta complaints regarding battery life cause mine is great. Then again, I haven't installed any of those goofy games/apps that people have been having problems with.

"Late 2012" is all I ever remember hearing from RIM, and I could be wrong that they didn't even say that. All this Sept., Nov. hard date stuff is just leaked info and speculation. Unless my memory is wrong...

I doubt they will toss around any firm dates again, after the whole "60 days" debacle. (whether it was or wasn't a firm date)

If its in good shape you might want to hang on to it. That's a good phone. If you've never done a backup/wipe/OS and apps reinstall, that will give it a new lease on life. If it is in bad physical shape I would pick up a bold or torch running OS7 on eBay. Just my opinion.

Edit: And... given the issues some have had with the 99xx Bolds "bricking" I would almost lean towards buying a Torch 9810 or 9850/9860 used. I'd hate to get a used Bold that someone had tons of issues with. I have a 9930 as well as my Torch and both are flawless. Had the 9930 since release day on Verizon (Sept 1-2 2011?). Can't say enough good about it. Yet there are some bad ones people have gotten.
