What are you guys doing with your old BlackBerries?

    I'll go first!

    • I found a Storm 9530 and a Curve 8550 (or something... 8350?) with a trackball on Craigslist - each for $20!
    • Unlock each of them
    • Install latest hybrid OS
    • Get a new case from Amazon for each
    • Challenge myself to use them for a week
    • Resell to someone who needs them, making a $10 profit above the cost of the phone + parts

    I might also:

    - Use them as a workout MP3 player
    - Use the Storm for Pandora over WiFI / media player usage.

What are you doing with yours?

Sell them. Whenever I get a new phone, I would sell my old one.

I'm thinking of buying another z10 just for my gaming game and keep my Q10 as my main one

I sold my white 9900, my black 9900, and my Torch 9810 on eBay after getting my Z10, because there was no way I'd go back to them. I got $225 for each.. I was pretty happy, because I had had them for a long time.

Until recently, I would switch my SIM card between my 7290 and my 9700. My husband would need the phone, in which case either device would do. Sometimes, I wanted Pandora or my media player for work, so I'd take the 9700 SIMless. Too bad my evil plans were foiled after aquiring my Q10 with its micro-SIM. No more switching SIMs unless I line up the contacts just right. It'd break my heart if an adapter hurt any of my babies.

I also have an 8310, but it's battery is long since dead. Still sporting a PlayBook, too.

Since my white 9810's paint is already chipped to hell, I use it as a mp3 player while exercising.

But it and all my other BB's have their own corner shelf ( shrine) in the den.
Along with other various model fire engines helicopters and cop cars from each state, rock memorabilia etc.

Still got ALL my old Blackberry!
I keep them in a box and take them out from time to time.
Might sound stupid, but I can not give them away I got great memories with all of them.

I got in my box: 8700, 8310, 8900, 9900 and soon my 9790 because I want to upgrade to the Z10.

It is kept as a standby with its battery out... I used it a week back, after it was in the box for a month, and I had trouble using it... but boy oh boy... an hour of play with it was pure fun... And I am talking about the 9860....

There was a time when I would collect my old phones (mostly Nokias) with no clear purpose of what to do with them. Then I just started selling my old phones to discount my new purchases.

But Im keeping my Bold 9900. The Purpose: I have a feeling that a decade from now this phone will hold a lot of value (be it sentimental, historic or any other kind). Besides as long as it works I would like to keep it as my backup phone as I still love everything that it has to offer.

Well let's see. I presently have the two most awesome Berries active (Z10,Q10) and I still have and use my older berries which I will keep as I cannot find the heart to get rid of them (BB9900, BB9930, BB9700, BB9780,BB9790). BB9930 (along with TMO service books)are on Page Plus (awesome cheap plans). My BB9900 (with BIS) is on my family plan. My other berries are backups! hahahaha. I ocassionaly swap my sim from my BB9900 to my other berries and take them for a ride for a while. I also have those temporary Berries under the TMO prepaid plan. I am a Blackberry fanatic so I keep em all!
