What carrier in Canada offers cheapest roaming prices when abroad? Just wondering.

That's going to depend A LOT of what you consider abroad.. None of them are 'cheap' but Rogers has released some almost reasonable packages for roaming in the US.. if you are traveling overseas.. good luck.

Well texts are flat rate anywhere which is .75 cents.. Calls kill you if you make any.. Overseas. And if you don't have data roaming off your in trouble lol

Unless you are going to the states for a short period of time why aren't you getting a local SIM. I have done this for many countries world wide and saved lots of money.

That's not an option for everyone. I run a business in which my cell number is heavily advertised. I need to be reachable by that number at all times, so I can't just swap sims

I would like to keep my original # so people can contact me. Getting local sims is a hassle.. Only would get 1 if I'm staying longer than 3-4 months..

I use Roam Mobility when I head to the States, but if you absolutely need to keep your number active, then it's not an option for you. That said, it's main benefits (unlimited nationwide calling, calls back to Canada, and international texting, and 300mb data/day) may make it worth your while to see if you can make having a US number work for you, considering the savings over roaming on your Canadian SIM.

Roaming is not bad aslong you can survive without data... But I do need my #. So that wouldn't be an option. As I don't want to go through the trouble of telling everyone my new #.. I'll just purchase that $40 unlimited texting and certain amount of mins. That would be fine. For going to the USA. For Europe I would do the same. As I could live on wifi for data.
