Ok, so with the 9790 leaks that were posted yesterday by CB looking to make the likely hood of 9790 actually being released quite good, what are the 7 devices that were discussed in shareholder meeting last week? A lot of us assumed he was counting the GSM and CDMA as separate devices which gave us Bold 9900 & 9930, Torch 9810, Torch 9850 & 9860, and the Curve for GSM & CDMA(can't remember these numbers). That count gave us the 7, but with the 9790 looking real, that would make 8 so maybe RIM's CEO was not counting the GSM & CDMA as separate devices and if this is the case, what other 2 devices, on top of the 9790 and the 4 already known, would make up the 7? the Curve Touch could make up 1, but I don't even remember hearing a rumor about anything else. What is everyone's thoughts?

Isn't there already a thread about this. In fact the title might be very very close.

good catch. My guess is the 9790 doesn't make it to market this year. Or maybe math is just one more thing these guys are not good at.

I believe this is the discussion you were referring too, but this was at the time of the initial announcement and most of the discussion just chalked it up to him counting the GSM and CDMA devices separately as I discussed in my initial post. I wanted to open it up to a new discussion since this new info has been posted by CB.

we have seen leaks for 6 distinct form factors, I suspect there is a seventh mysterious form factor. the Bold 9790 was kept secretive long enough to get a model number.

Assuming #5 and #6 are actually due out this year I think this list makes a lot more sense than updates to the pearl and style, a curve touch will fill the role of gateway smartphone that was previously occupied by the pearl models and sprint will have more than enough os7 models without wanting another style.

If the 9790 and curve touch aren't due till early next year then it does bring back the gsm/cdma counting as 2 models option to add up to 7, but here's hoping they are due this year since it means we actually have another completely unknown model still to learn about.

That definitely isn't it, there is no reason they would count the gsm and cdma curves as one model if they weren't doing the same with the bold and torch 9850/9860 models.
