So today i purchased a Bold 9000 cheap running os5 did the hybrid OS5(7.2) on it asap to make it run as fast as possible. Always wanted one!
So liquid graphics makes a huge difference never realized this and the extra memory helps so much. The browser is super slow even on wifi its slower than my OS7 torch on 3g. Good job RIM on the OS7 Browser.
I felt slow using this old OS5 and with only 4 apps installed my device was asking me to delete one to make space.
People say there's not much difference, but actually there's a huge diffence.
I seen a lot of people switching from the old OS5 even OS6 devices to iphones/Androids. If they would only give OS7 a chance for a few days they would fall in love. With that said as much as i love the look of the old Bold 9000 i cannot deal with the slow OS and super low memory. Already back to my 9810. Now really considering a 9900

Well I believe the 9000 was a 4.6 device, os5 has always ran slow because it was never meant to be put on the phone. Just like os5 on a 8330.

I'm on a 9650 with os5 and its very snappy for everything except the browser of course.

I am able to ug my contract for a 9930 but don't need to while this phone is in great working condition.

I guess if I were to try the 9650 it would have been a better experience since it has 512mb compare to the 128mb on the 9000. Without any apps installed it ran good. Once I installed Facebook and 2 other apps it became slow and internet got super slow.

Up until a month ago, they actually still sold the 9000, 9700 and 9780 at the same price, here in Belgium. Now they still sell the 9700 at only €150 cheaper than the 9900/9930. (No plans) *smh*
They're also still promoting the 8520 like it's the best blackberry ever made.

I am doing just fine, going from a 9930 down to a 9650 on OS 5. I don't mind the browser, in fact, I prefer it. Plenty of memory on this phone, and with the apps and themes I have, it is running super smooth. I honestly couldn't be happier.

I've always enjoyed the stability of OS5 and the biggest feature, no panels! I'm rocking OS6 on my 9650 however, and the thing that I love is the browser, it is keeping me from ever going back to OS5.

@cjordan93: You can make no panels on the OS7 devices. ...

Booted up my 9650 for fun last night and it was so slow I couldn't believe how I used Blackberry before the 9930.

I have an 8530, and have no problem at all. Best phone I have ever had. I prefer it to Android and iOS. OS 7 is better I admit, but VM USA's $35 a month plan is unbeatable. My BB does everything I need it to do, and can still multi-task like a champ.

did rim take sodium thiopental?because they increased the battery life for 5 by a greater amount.in os 7 they took out the energizer batteries and put in chinese batteries that last for less than 24 hours.

Thats what I have always said. Going from os5 to i phone, or anyother ohone is a huge difference, I think plenty of people would have been happy, had they given the 9900 a shot.
