maybe some company is doing something like a bluetooth wifi adapter. like how the bluetooth gps receivers work. who knows. its an interesting idea, not sure if it's useful or just unnecessary.
It would be a pain in the a$$ to need some BlueTooth puck or some dongle to lug around in order to use WiFi!!
The only reason a GPS puck makes a little bit of sense is because you can leave it in your car and have it available for navigation.
As for hardware... as Stoner said :
Only the xx20 model Berries support WiFi, along with the Bold, Javelin and (probably) Thunder! And, the Nextelt iDeN Curve 8350 is supposedly going to have WiFi support (but it is not released yet...)
what about all the other non wifi smartphones out there? maybe you could do a slight modification to the code for each one so all the "not-so-smart"phones could then be used on wifi.. either via a bluetooth connection or a direct usb connection...

but the chip in the 8310 curve is exactly the same as in the 8320 curve. could the 8320 curve os be loaded into the 8310, making it essentially an 8320 and wifi enabled. the hardware being the same i do not see why not.
thanks
i still have my doubts. both phones have the same specs for the cell phone radio frequencies. both go at least up to 1.9 Ghz. wifi operates at 2.4 Ghz and i doubt that the 8320 will have a different chrystal to generate the frequencies and that all will not be in the tweeking of filters to achieve the right frequency. and that is all achieved in the 8320 by its software. so i keep hoping. but all rests in the experiment. i am ready to download the 8320 os onto the 8310. the only thing stopping me right now is the question: if all does not go well, can i easily revert and download the previous 8310 os back?
thanks
Whether or not it's physically possible re the hardware is irrelevant, BBOS is locked down and even if the physical capability was there, the OS doesn't allow for it.
It's not possible.

Think of the os as a jigsaw puzzle, and every part of the OS (the cods and the sfi) and the phone are pieces. You can't fit the sfi from one phone with another. It's just not possible.
