Water damage?
Hi!
I was thrown into a pool three days ago with my BB Storm in my pocket. When I got out of the pool my BB was making a "sizzeling" sound. I took out the battery and have blow dried it for a few hours, however, it is not turning on or making any sort of sound now. It is completely done now or will the rice trick work even though it has been 3 days? The WDI on the battery has a pink stripe through it and the WDI on the phone is all pink. Has anyone known of a Storm recovering from major water damage? Thanks for all your help... :(

Sounds like the damage is already done because it was "sizzeling", you blow dried it (should have just let it dry rather than blowing the water deeper), you only waited a few hours (a week would have been better), you didn't wash out the chlorine, it's probably too late for rice.
Try rice for a week but don't hold your breath. Sorry. :(

Thank goodness for removable batteries.
Some competitor models with sealed batteries turn into grenades when that happens.
I can't speak to the Storm specifically, but I have seen many BlackBerrys recover from water damage once they are thoroughly dried out.
The best technique is to use a desiccant like Silica crystals or dry Rice. Place your Storm in a sealed contanier and put that in a warm place for a couple days.
If that does not help, the damage is permenent.

If the device was making a "sizzling" sound, then I'm afraid the internal components are fried. I doubt the rice will work, but...hey...miracles do happen, so it can't hurt to try.
