Yes, because owning a Blackberry and that breach happening are so closely related.....

Home Depot suffered its massive breach shortly after announcing they had dropped BlackBerry for iPhone throughout the Corporation. Some here will rush to say that the phones had nothing to do with it anytime anyone points this out, as if they know. Maybe so, but, HD gave the appearance they did not care about security. And again, some here will claim that BlackBerry is not more secure ( that is why Obama and Clinton use them, right?). In any case, I like to shop at their competitor, Canadian Tire, that deployed BB10s throughout their corporation.

If your credit card info was breached as a Walmart customer in this example, it wouldn't matter whether you were a BB user, or an Android user. In fact, there has yet to be any kind of major data breach as a result of any mobile platform's security.

You think your BB has the same level of security that senior White House officials have? What would you say if your found out that POTUS users iOS?

You make lifestyle choices based on what devices a corporation uses? Not even JC does that LOL.

You're using an ad-hominem argument to push an idea. By that same logic, I could just as easily argue that since I'm a Skippy Peanut Butter consumer, and while eating Skippy I never came down with cancer, but weeks after I switched to Peter Pan or Jiff, I suddenly get hit with cancer, so obviously the evidence shows that Skippy Peanut Butter prevents cancer.

That can't be right. I'm sure if the checkout girl and the parking lot cart collector had been carrying blackberries, the bubble wrap phantom force field security would have encrypted the credit cards that were entered onto a web server via a browser. 😂

Every time one of these breaches occur, threads pop up proclaiming how not using BB devices caused it. They only show how disconnected some of us are.

    Good stuff.

"A recent poll by MasterCard put into sharp relief the degree of anxiety people feel: Fifty-five per cent of respondents said they would prefer that naked pictures of them be leaked online rather than their financial information."

Maybe that's why Apple's image hasn't been too tarnished with the big iCloud leaks.

Some people order stuff, using their smartphone, from Walmart-on-line, giving their credit card number. I often purchase cases of Kool-aid and tinfoil, that way, for convenient home delivery--- lol.

Well tomorrow is their big online sale so you can stock up on all 32 flavours. That Z10 will save you.

Who knows there might be a bluelight special on tinfoil. 😊

Only in here did that give the idea that HD didn't care about security. And what model Blackberry and OS are Obama and Clinton using and where can I buy one? I can't because they are using a heavily modified legacy device.

I think the point that some are trying to make is that if a corporation truly cared about having the best security and privacy, we will know because they will be using BlackBerry It's sort of like guilt by association.

Security is like a wall.... its only secure until someone figures out how to breach it in a way you didn't imagine or more likely via a sleepy guard not keeping watch (IT guy uses his server to watch some porn*). I think the Hacking Team documents show that where there is a will.... eventually there is a way in.

But I think too many people here fail to understand that BlackBerry is a small company in the Security business... one that has no footprint at all in the in the traditional Network or Systems security business..

*just an example, not what happened to WalMart
