- In the same way that the failed White House petition demanding the construction of a Death Star represents real demand for such a thing to happen. Web polls are most easily manipulated "statistics" possible. The second a web poll trends on Twitter or gets upvoted on Reddit, an highly self-selected sample of (i.e. not representative) people who feel strongly about that topic (or a commercial in this regard) will go to the link and vote for it. with paycheck from sammy, they have to praise sammy more and at the same time mention blackberry so that readers will look for and find out what this commercial of blackberry was all about... (whew... where's comma and full stop buttons...).
and at the same time help rebuild blackberry as a brand...
... from the positive side...

but since the ad is in NFL superbowl, it is logical for people to browse NFL to re-watch the missed or favourite ads. and it just seems that other sites who is borrowing NFL's popularity to grab the ads and do their own ratings.
its just irrelevant in my view. people will still look up to NFL's site to view the ads. and that's much more matter to gauge ratings.

It wasnt funny, or clever, or witty, or memorable in any way. In no way shape or form did Blackberry distigunish itself from iphone or android either, it didnt make you want to go to blackberrys website and look up their phones or to try one out. Watch the ad from a subjective standpoint and not knowing anything about blackberry 10 and see if blackberry 10 is something you would want to learn more about.02-05-13 10:53 AMLike 3

Additionally: How about the younger teens? They always want the latest thing and quite frankly that commercial did have a lot of visual candy whether or not they understood the message. "Ooooh mum, dad I want that!" We have all seen it/heard it. Once again marketing job done. Or how about those old BB business users (this is a tough one) "What? BlackBerry? Oh dear no. Haha look at that. Looks to me like they are no longer business phones what with all the flashy graphics." Looks down at company issued iPhone "Well I guess good for them, it's what everybody's going with now anyway."
None of these examples means a definite sold phone. It doesn't have to be. Just has to implant the word BlackBerry into a persons mind. What they think of it is up to the individual.02-05-13 02:00 PMLike 0 - yeah the Samsung was miles better than the Blackberry ad.
The only reason Blackberry got number one is because there is a huge portion of Blackberry fans that congregate here on Crackberry and were told about the vote.
Samsung doesnt have a fansite this big, and forget about Samsung for a second, there were a **** of a lot more ads that should have the top spot over Blackberry.
Remember the old argument that iFans stifle innovation by mass purchasing Apple products regardless of neccessity or quality. Well Blackberry fans has just stifled ad creativity by mass voting a poor ad to number one spot.

Most of the really good ads were longer and thus a lot more money, but they allowed those advertiser (like Samsung) to tell more of a story that people could at least understand what was going on. BlackBerry's ad "look what we can't do" was funny in a way, but it was also lame and left too many people looking around and saying huh?02-05-13 07:07 PMLike 0 - In my opinion, the only commercials that may be remembered in 6 months are the raunchy Go Daddy pos (because it was so disgusting), the 'God Made Farmers' (for it's quiet simpleness) and maybe the Budweiser colt story (who doesn't love a baby Clydesdale). The BB commercial was almost over before I realized what it was and I was waiting for it. I appreciate and respect those who think the BB commercial was good/great. - I loved the Jeep/USO commercial. Made me tear up. Its rough being on the otherside of the world away from friends and family that's for sure and I personally thank Jeep and the USO for a great salute and support to all us military folk out there.

Samsung one did the job, but wasn't near the best either. I personally thought the Doritos one was the best again.
