OK, so here's the deal - I am currently with Verizon using the Curve 8330. I am really eager to upgrade (and yes, I know the Storm 2 is coming very soon..). I nearly bought a Tour a couple weeks ago but decided to wait when my dad said he would get me a new BB for Christmas if I was willing to wait, and it would have to be a Verizon phone since I'm on his family plan.

But I don't want to wait anymore! I have been looking at the Bold & really like it. I was with AT&T previously and wouldn't mind switching over again since I'm not currently under contract with Verizon so can get out at any time. But, if I wanted to get the Tour for Christmas, I would have to sign a contract to get the new contract pricing (don't want to have to pay $400-$500 for the device).

So, what I'm wondering is: would you guys say the Bold is better than the Tour? I've heard the Tour has some issues whereas the Bold, although lacking in some areas that the Tour has been improved (i.e. - better camera, etc) is a pretty solid device. So, should I wait & sign a new contract or should I just go for the Bold now?

Actually the Tour is solid now, at least for me.

I agree as well, I'm running .230 and have had zero issues...but the bold is sweet....I def prefer the exterior design and feel over the tour

If you wait until Christmas, the new Tour with Trackpad and Wi-fi may be out.

It's a better phone, even if you had to wait til christmas for both, still Bold.

If it were me, I'd wait to see what type of holiday deals the companies will have, along with the phones that are coming out.

Personally, a sorta kinda better cam on a phone, does not do much for me, but more memory and faster processor would be a factor for me.

Yes, most of the Carriers present specials in December, and sometimes throw in freebies to boot.

When I got my Curve, they had eliminated the rebate requirement temporarily, and threw in a car charger as a gift. Patience may net you a nice windfall.

And a new BB makes a sweet Christmas present.
