Am I totally missing something here, when I am unable to hide the voicemail password from being shown in the phone call log?

that's insane. There's a workaround I found where you put 'voicemail' in the contacts but it still doesn't seem to hide the pw.

You put voicemail in your contacts?? Why?

Open, your Phone function, and just press and hold "1".

you can put your password in options>phone options>voicemail . im not sure if it shows up in the call log, or maybe thats what you are talking about.

no, the method that Sofa speaks of will not show your password anywhere.. but if you keep it in your contacts (why I have no idea) then it would show.

oh fer chrissakes. Ok. Press and Hold '1'. It dials your voicemail, waits, then puts in the password. Now hang up, now go to your call list. What do you see under the words "Voice Mail"?

I see my voicemail number, a "p," then my password. I don't like that.

ok forget I put voicemail in my contacts. That was a workaround for this problem. Just forget it, it's no longer there.

my bb tour definitely shows my password in the call log after I've dialed my voicemail.

My name is Chris, so I assume the "Chrissakes" is for me.

And, let all of crackberry know that I stand corrected. What Furballz is bent out of shape about is true. I guess I never cared to look at it before. Now that I look, you're right, it shows. I've gone through everything and can't find a work around.

    Good luck.

furballz- why dont you set up your voicemail so that a password doesnt have to be put in (you can call your voicemail and change the settings)

    That's odd..

When I call VM, the call doesn't show in the call log at all.

    Feature/bug in 5.0.238?

actually no that's probably RIM's way of hiding the password. Just hide the whole entry.

When u go to Phone>Option>Voice mail don't type your password there. Simply when u dial your VM just enter your password when it prompts u. This way when u call VM instead of the pause and the beeps now it tells u to enter your password.

um ok but nobody has told me how to. I've been through all the VM menus and can't find one to "turn off password." No soup for you.

And the reason I don't want to have to manually enter my PW each time is that the BB keys are tiny and usually I'm checking it while driving or making love. I'd like it to do it automagically.

Well those r the options. Either u enter it each time or type it in under Option>VM and maybe that way it shows. (I haven't checked that one tho)
