    Can't seem to get the voice command to recognize my voice...must be my texas accent!! Any suggestions??

    Kidding. Try speaking slowly, clearly, and at an appropriate volume. VAD should eventually "learn" your voice.

    Also make sure you go to options > voice dialing > press menu
    and select adapt digits. My assistant has the heaviest Spanish
    accent imaginable and after we got that done her phone has no trouble with recognition.

    A fellow Texan here and I have finally gotten this to work.

    I had problems originally and thought VAD was junk. Since then I have come to really like and use it often. As noted above, speak slowly and clearly and phoenetically. ie. My last name is Bonnot pronounced buh-no. I have to pronounce it bon-net for VAD to recognize it. Also the longer the command the better. Instead of saying Call Joe. Say "Call Joe Smith Mobile". It makes a huge difference.
