Please forgive me if this question has been posted in the past - but I ran a search in 9630 discussion group and couldn't find an answer.

I went to Europe with my Verizon Tour 9630 Blackberry, and couldn't get the GPS to work. Does the GPS only work in the US? If so, that really is lame!

thanks in advance for any insight you can provide.

GPS is, of course, universal unless blocked by some governments' policies or local blackouts where you might be near some kind of defense installation.

Supposedly, the gps in the Tour (Storm) are no longer locked by Verizon and should be available overseas. Emphasis is on SHOULD. I don't know if the user should set "location aided" off so you are not using/relying on cell towers which may be a format of data-use that might be a cdma component.

(I posted my vague thoughts to also bump this up for more info from others, hopefully.)
