Does the GPS on the Verizon 8330 work with google maps? I know it works with BB maps, but when I use it with google, it looks like it's just using the cell phone towers. It give my position within 1500 meters.

There is another CB member who insists that the Verizon Curve's GPS is unlocked, but the OS has to be 4.5.0.77. I highly doubt this though.

it is only unlocked for use with BB Maps with OS 4.5.0.77.

I know, but he is insisting that it is unlocked for Google Maps also.

I have 4.5.0.131 and prior to that had .77 and google did not work with that either. Have any suggestions for a map app that works well with vzw?

Only options currently are BB Maps and VzNav if you want GPS accuracy.

i use VZ NAV for directions.

i use Live Search for Points Of Intesest searches (does not use GPS, you need to input the city). Live Seach OTA Downlaod: Live Search

i use BB Maps if i just need to look at a general map (road) or want printed out directions with distance and time.

They unlocked the gps on the storm for google maps
