Is it possible to update my bb bold 9700 on o2 to os6 straight from desktop manager to phone whilst using my same phone as the modem on my laptop???? Everytime I try to do so my phones network turns off just before I try and update, iv not got any other type of broadband connection to use, can anyone help or suggest another way of doing this? Thanks

First, download the OS from BlackBerry.com.
Then, after downloading the entire thing, install the OS to the phone.

just a tip - only works on PC unless it's an official update through Desktop Manager.

I clicked on the device update option on desktop manager, that's where it says I can update to os6 but when I start the update it cuts my phone network off stopping me from doing the update! With me using my phone as the modem I can't continue the update

Don't do it on desktop manager. Go to Blackberry.com find the OS and download it.
Treat it like a leaked OS and delete your vendor.xml.

You'll find ample info on how to on the site.
