It's antiquated for my taste (particularly the leather holsters). Personal preference though, so it may work for others. My phone's either in my pocket or my bag.

Not sure if it was ever "hip" to wear a holster. But I've used one for the entire time I've had a BlackBerry. So that's 7 years of Holsters for Me.

Why is it that I never see any young people using a holster for their phone?

It is very convenient, and I do not understand why people would not use it more.

Because young people have Z30-sized devises, not Bold-size. Holsters look really lame when they are a Z30 size or greater. Only reason I would use one is if I was on it constantly (for business) or I did manual labor (protected, and won't fall out or crush in your pocket).
