I've searched a bit and found some useful info, but a lot of it seems to be dated a couple years ago (with discussion on 'new' services at the time).
Anyhow, here's the deal. I'm going to Thailand next month and would like to have a phone.
I have a Curve 8330 that used to be on Verizon and is now just collecting dust. Do I just need to get a prepaid Thai SIM (AIS seems to be the big boy over there) and pop it in? If I want data (Google Maps, email) are there specific SIMs or will I have to go to a postpaid service? Is there any unlocking I need to do before hand?
Unfortunately the 8330 is strickly a CDMA device and cannot be unlocked. Can only be used in North America. Only GSM/HSPA devices can be unlocked and used on different carriers.
