I would like to use a handsfree device with my BB that has a cord. I have not been able to get a Bluetooth that I like and want to go back to the older technology. Can I do that with a BB? I think I heard something about an adapter from 2.5mm to 3.5mm or something is needed.

Any advice?

why not just use the headset that came with the phone ?

I don't want to use it to listen to music on the phone, I want it to make/receive calls with. I didn't think the headset that came with the phone had a microphone in it. Am I wrong about that?

yes it can be used for calls
