    I bricked my phone (or something happened to get white screen/hour glass) I am getting a replacement and now I am afraid to upgrade the new phone. Will ATT upgrade for me or am I on my own again. Terribly afraid but I want that 4.5, help

    It is likely your replacement will have the old OS software.

    Upgrading does carry a small risk of failure, but it can usually be resolved with a forced OS build.

    Were you using the AT&T upgrade page? A failure there will be supported by AT&T.

    If you were attempting to install a different carriers OS, that becomes your support problem.
