Hello all - I just bought a 9700 and was wondering if anyone had some tips on transferring all my information/files onto my new 9700? Is there a way to save it all on the SIM? Any comments would be appreciated.

Just use desktop manager (the cd that should've came with your phone).

    Welcome to CrackBerry.

BlackBerry Desktop Manger has a Switch Device Wizard that will move your data and setting to your new device. It will also automatiacly update all of your PIN and BlackBerry Messenger contacts.

The other option is to backup your original, then used Advanced Restore to copy the database to the new device. That will not update your PIN contacts.

Also, saving to the SIM card won't do much good. Avoid that at all costs. All that can be saved to the SIM is your contacts only, and even then, you only get the name and one number per contact. No other contact information can get saved - such as additional numbers, email addresses or other info you might include.
