I updated the OS on my Pearl Flip 8230 (Verizon) last night to 4.6.1.284. Everything is working except that I'm not receiving BES emails. In fact, "Desktop" (which was the BES option that appeared after BES was activated) is gone completely.
I did a forum search and saw that BES needed to be re-activated. I emailed my IT people and asked them to re-activate my BES. They said that they re-sent the service books, but I'm still not getting BES emails. Is re-sending service books the same as re-activating BES?
You will need to get a new "enterprise activation password" from your IT department and go through the enterprise activation in advanced options again.

Yeah, I am realizing that. Unfortunately the 8230 has some major issues that I was hoping would be fixed. And the update does seem to have fixed a few problems.
