Next year's Z30
Actually, I don't think I can, but feel free to send autoloaders at our usual address ;)
Agreed, but BlackBerry has something called "Proprietary Enhanced Super", whatever that means :D

Next year's Z30 with this years specs. Of course.
Great to see above good news!
Yeah, looks like BlackBerry usually is 6-9 months late on hardware. They did a good job on the Z30 though as it was only released 4 months after the Galaxy S4.
OK, seems BlackBerry has really cancelled the devices that were supposed to get launched soon.
So no more Caf/Kopi. Not sure about P'9882...
BlackBerry: No new BB10 devices till March - Pocket-lint
I thought they cancelled kopi? Since BlackBerry is gonna focus on 4 devices?

Q5/Q10/Z10/Z30
Let's hope they wait for Ontario and Windermere and don't release the early devices from the AQ series with the old wifi chips. They don't need another Z10.
I'm testing a Channel... now that there is no more hardware for 6 months :straight-face:: C001231E5
Finally found evidence that BlackBerry is getting ready to test MSM8974AA and MSM8974AB chipsets. Those are overclocked versions of Snapdragon 800 which are already used by the competition.
Added loads of R numbers and a bit more clarity on what's coming next.
Windermere could be the next touch device, based on the reference design, and Ontario a slider or just the Qwerty version.
Musket is a only a prototype at this stage...
They're discontinuing z10 I believe. Z30 will be the new full touch screen. Kopi will be their entry level phone and is part of the 4 devices.

Not according to the article and BlackBerry who's confirmed the line up.
If they really wanted to introduce a new device, they would keep caf, but they have millions of Z10 to get rid off.

Was the P'9882 ever more than just a rumour?
BlackBerry could have released the Z30 in January, had Motorola not had a deal with Qualcomm for exclusive access to the MSM8960DT (S4 Pro) SoC until Q3 of 2013. That SoC also powers the Z30.
I'm hoping BlackBerry skip the AQ devices too.
They don't need the cafe since they are lowering the Z10's price to entry to mid level pricing anyway. They might as well just get rid of stock they already have before deciding to produce anymore.
Yep there were leaked pictures.
I liked the Porsche version. Though it would have been better had it been based of a Z30.
I doubt Motorola had a deal on the whole MSM8960xx category of processors. The Z30 is NOT using a MSM8960DT, but its brother with less brains.
Agreed. If they had to wait that long to get it out the door, they might as well have based it on the Z30.
What's your idea on the screen size of the Windermere? Assuming they release Windermere around March wouldn't that mean it would be too soon to release another 5inch touchscreen so soon after the Z30?
Would it make sense to you that Windemere would be maybe a 4-4.5 inch device to compete with the iPhone? As I suspect that enterprise users don't really want gigantic screens..
I have no idea at this stage. To give you an example, it's only very recently that the OS revealed that Caf had a 4.5" screen. Maybe it's hidden deep into the OS and I haven't found where.
I would love a smaller phone and maybe that's why they still have both 720p and 1080p screens in testing. I wouldn't mind another 720p-ish 4.2" screen on my next phone. Would be faster and more portable :)
I didn't say Motorola had a deal on all the MSM8960xx SoC's, just the DT version.
I have info that BlackBerry are using the DT version.
Plus, the DT version is the only model with a quad-core Adreno 320 - http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snapd...ystem_on_chip)
You have been misinformed. The Z30 is using the AB version and I'm sure that if it had some extra smart chips like on the Moto X, BlackBerry would have communicated about it.
Check your Wikipedia link, you'll see the AB version :)
The 'AB' version doesn't have the Quad-core Adreno, I emailed Qualcomm to check. Only the DT does. As for being 'mis-informed', it was Jeff Gadway who confirmed the SoC via BBM.

I'll reply in the other thread since this is pretty specific. If the GPU is not quad-core then BlackBerry is lying, because the system is reporting 8960AB.
See you in the other thread; I'm intrigued as to where the system reports the SoC.
Perhaps like the 'boot time bug', the OS is reporting the info incorrectly?
