Wouldn't the AQ be some type of a slider maybe? A10+Q10. That would be sweet, plus a quad core?
That's what I originally thought, but I think quad-core A-series makes more sense.

No, the SoC numbers (8960AB) refers to a combination of elements. Krait is the name of the CPU architecture and it can come in various configurations. One of them is dual-core.
Ok, thanks for the clarification. So based on your findings in the 10.2 OS, do u thing these are the final specs?

I thought the cafe series were actually those dummy tablets we keep hearing about that will pair with A series devices. Also I really hope BB releases the A series with a quad core processor and 1080 p screen.

What I'm 99% sure is that the A-series will use the 8960AB SoC. There rest I've explained in the chipset thread.
OK, so the unreleased 8960AB chipset seems to be part of something called the "8064 V2 Prime" family.
Their common denominator is a dual-core Krait 300 CPU and SoCs based on that configuration are usually placed in the Snapdragon 400 category, BUT most have the Adreno 305 GPU.

The following chipsets can be found in the family:
    8030AB
    8130/AA/AB
    8230AB
    8630AB
    8930AB
    8960AB

You can find them all listed here, except for the one which I believe is going to be used in the Aristo, which I think is going to get the Adreno 320 due to its number ending in 60.
I'd also like to think of it as a Snapdragon 600 light instead of a Snapdragon 400 Pro
I've also just double-checked and the 8960AB is configured to use the Adreno 320.

Not sure where you've heard that, but these devices come with radios, so they seem pretty fully featured to me. There is one interesting bit about it. It has 2 touchscreen configurations. Could be for testing 2 different vendors, could be unoptimized code or could be because of a second touch area.

I find it a bit depressing that Thorsten isn't all over the news saying how carriers are loving the new device, that it's great for gaming, etc. If they can't get excited, then how are consumers supposed to feel when they get their hands on it?

720 x 720 ... would have to be taller and wider. Given BB's design calling for super wide bezels, you would be limited to 3.5 inches.
3.5 inches is perfect. Anything more than that for qwerty will throw off the balance of the phone, and is just not reasonable for use. Screw the slider, and take the qwerty to the next level. I want more screen area, and the physical keyboard. This device is a winner.

BBOS said something about the cappuccino device being an accessory(laptop dock, tablet to pair) kind of device but maybe there is radio code because it will be lte enabled as well like some tablets today already are.

    Good thinking
Could also simply be a version of the Z10 with an upgraded radio which supports more bands. Makes its easier to develop for and could be cost efficient.

That actually makes sense considering BB purchased that radio tech company that was developing tech like that.

This goes back to the topic of whether BlackBerry believes their own product or not?

Osborne Effect. Their current product line up isn't doing so well. Talking about an upcoming products that won't be coming out for a few months wouldn't help.

The Astro is due pretty soon. If it's not released in Septembre with the specs we know, then I hope they'll skip it and go straight for the upgraded version.

Could be both? But your idea is more likely... They are having issues with carrier segmentation..
