And regarding Hammerhead, if it's using the newer, unreleased 8660 Pro (8660AB) featuring the same GPU used by the Z30, then it would be a CDMA/UMTS model limited to a 1080p screen. Could be a car system for the US?

Scratch that, it's the old one with an Adreno 225 :S

Perhaps. Although, if I remember correctly, 800x480 is about the size of the center console displays in a car.

Thank You @Thurask and @ofutur for disecting the whole thing. Very sad to see that there won't be a flagship full touch device this year. I hope it comes out at least in Q1

At least, they've confirmed the screen size and DPI or Windermere as well as the 3x2 activeframe home page (vs 4 in the Q10).

    And then we have this...
"...BlackBerry 10.3 is targeted only for new device hardware being introduced later this year..."
"...BlackBerry 10.3.1 will also be available to all current BlackBerry 10 smartphones..."

Meaning 10.3 won't be available until October when 10.3.1 lands on production servers just before the launch of the Classic.

I guess they need to focus on the new touch keyboard, pro audio and quad-core CPU before back porting what they can to older hardware.

Added Quick Charge 1.0 support to Windermere. It's quite a good feature to have.

    Ugh.

    Edit. Source: http://devblog.blackberry.com/2014/0...a-has-arrived/

It kind of makes no sense since development of 10.3 is clearly ongoing for older devices and will take less work to perfect.

"Now that you know that BlackBerry 10.3 targets new hardware and that the BlackBerry Classic device is arriving this year, I?d like to clarify that the BlackBerry Classic will launch with BlackBerry 10.3.1. BlackBerry 10.3.1 will also be available to all current BlackBerry 10 smartphones as an OS update later this year. So the time you spend testing your app right now will help get it ready for upcoming and in-market BlackBerry 10 devices."

    Not 10.3. Just 10.3.1.

    10.3 will be Windermere only.

Oh well, guess I'll take on the Z30 when they become a lil cheaper and more down the year

Quick charge sounds pretty promising, even if it'll be future devices only!

Any thouhts on when the Windermere is scheduled to release? Knowing that the classic will come out in November and that "Ivan" will probably in the Summer.. From what I've seen on the BerryFlow Channel it seems they are designing the OS extremely well for that device..

BlackBerry has a one device per OS release policy (P'998x being the exception) and we've heard that Ivan would only land in 2015, so it's Windermere only, but I'm not sure about the release date. The device has been in testing for a long time, but it could well land just before the Classic, in October, even if the OS is ready in August.

Yes, and if BB provides a QC charger, then we'll have QC 2.0 which charges a 3300MAh battery in 96 minutes vs 270 minutes today
