Wondering if it could be some kind of light client for use as interface for either BB10 or other "master devices".

Could be for cars or devices needing an interface. Would make sense looking back at the way TH talked about tablets not being fill featured devices in 5 years.

Q20 and one version of the Z3 LTE have been FCC certified and are now being tested by carriers. Blogs will probably leak pics soon

And there are 2 versions of the Z3 LTE being tested. (Probably US and EMEA)

    I dunno.

The FCC website shows no BlackBerry certifications from this year at all.

There may be pending applications but I can't get those without more info.

Here is the link for an authorization search.

    https://apps.fcc.gov/oetcf/eas/repor...ericSearch.cfm

    BlackBerry's code is "l6a".

Application searches require the application number.

Yes, but that's the public interface and it doesn't include devices protected by a NDA.

All authorizations are public. Sometimes when the manufacturer requests it, information will be temporarily redacted from an authorization and only limited information will be available. But, the authorization itself will be public information.

Applications are technically public too but you can't search for them unless you have the application number. So, they are effectively private.

My guess is that there may be pending applications.

    Not entirely correct.
If I'm not mistaken, companies can block the public from seeing the devices depending on the circumstances.
This has happened with a lot of previous devices.

Right. Like I wrote, the manufacturer can ask for information to be temporarily withheld.

    No...
There is no Q20, the Q10 upgrade will be called the Classic Bold.

Windermere will be called the "BlackBerry One 4.4". A large marketing agency has been advising every one to use the model name "One" in order to make a big impact and sure enough, many large companies have started to use that strategy in the past year or so. BlackBerry doesn't want to be seen as an imitator and thus is innovating by adding the year and the quarter so that you can always pick the freshest BlackBerry from the fruit stand. OK, OK, that's all the product of my imagination , let's see what they end up calling it...

No no no, you got it only half right. It's going to be the BlackBerry 44 Magnum, specially tailored for their strategically-important defense and law-enforcement clientele.

Looking through this OS still convinces me that Classic and Khan are merely gussied-up Q10s. Of course, the target markets are focused on a little square under the screen and some cow skin on the battery door, so it makes sense not to waste effort. The lack of HDMI on a supposed work device is puzzling, though. Maybe a push for Miracast.

I recall the Press Release for the Classic mentioned the screen will be 3.5inch rather than the Q10's 3.1inch. When you are seeing details that suggest the Classic is merely a gussied up Q10, are you seeing evidence of this 3.5 screen?

I am concerned that they have backed it down to 3.1 since the press release...
