Yeah, I'll be looking at it these coming days. It's a bit of an alien and a very early build, so not that interesting, but I can tell you that the new keyboard type is confirmed, there is now support for a "BlackBerry touch keypad"

    • New EMEA version of Windermere
    • 3 new versions of the Q20: ClassicNA, ClassicVZW, ClassicROW
    • Khan is the new qwerty I mentioned earlier
    • JAT is the codename for the Jakarta-STJ100
    • New 1MP Camera sensor: Sony IMX 188. Could be used as a secondary for video, like on the New One.

Best SoC they're using is the SnapDragon 801, like the Xperia Z2.

Wasn't the Q20 supposed to be 3.5" diagonal?

And, just some speculation, but my guess is that Khan is a new Porsche Design device.

I don't know. Did I post the wrong info somewhere?

And you may be right about Khan, I was wondering why it was so closely related to the N series, but I haven't looked at individual files yet.

    It appears that BlackBerry did:

    http://blogs.blackberry.com/2014/02/blackberry-q20/

The BlackBerry Q20 smartphone will include a generous 3.5? touchscreen, the largest display yet on a QWERTY BlackBerry smartphone, giving you more space for viewing messages, browsing Internet and intranet sites and accessing other apps.

I think Jakarta will have the 5MP camera back and 1MP camera front, specifically the VB6955 and IMX188. Found that in the libcamera_config-jat.so.

And what's this about a Dev Alpha X?

Found this block with a hex editor

    MSM8960AB.MSM8960.MSM8930.MSM8230.MSM8974.MSM8974A A.MSM8974AB.MTP8960.PLATFORM.MTP8960AB.MTP8974.LAR EDO.PARANA.MJOLNIR.TIGRIS.EUPHRATES.DEVALPHAX.R069.LSERIES.R070.R086.KINGROW.KINGNA.R044.NSERIE S.KHANB.R084.R085.KHANE.R085DEVALPHAC.NEWPORT.NEWARK.CLASSICNA.CLASSICVZW.CLASSICROW.R092.RSERIES.R093.R094.ARISTO.ASERIES.ASTRO.ASTRO X.ANISIO.ATHOS.ARAMIS.AMERICANOATT.CAFESERIES.CAPP UCCINO.AMERICANOLATAM.AMERICANOVZW.KOPINA.KOPIEMEA .JAT.ONTARIONA.ONTARIO.ONTARIOFDD.ONTARIOVZW.ONTARI OSPRINT.ONTARIOTDD.WINDERMERENA.WINDERMERE.WINDERM EREVZW.WINDERMERESPRINT.WINDERMEREEMEA

So, I had a look at some files and here is what I've found:

    • Lots of activity around the Mjolnir dev device, which could become the new 1080p flagship
    • New DevAlphaX platform, which could be a reference HD device
    • JAT supports HSDPA bands 1,2 and 8
    • JAT has the 1MP camera in the front
    • There is maybe another version of JAT called Ivan
    • New Tigris v4 revision has been named Beaver. Windermere and Ontario are now based on Beaver
    • Khan is either a special edition of the Q10, yes, 10... or the non-NA version of the Classic aka Q20
    • If Khan and the classic are different versions (bands) of the same phone, then the specs are terrible since they're based on the Q10
    • Ontario seems to have been downgraded to a 720p device
    • Windermere has 29 keys vs the Classic's 35
    • Various cool technologies have been introduced: USB over ethernet, Bluetooth LE. Near field audio, multi-touch, subtitles, dlna client
    • Trackpads being tested: Frosty SAE, Frosty Semco, Avago A320, Thistle CrucialTec, Thistle ST, Thistle Cypress, CrucialTec 304

    Other thoughts
    • There is nothing about a new GPU or more powerful CPUs...
    • Khan/Classic seem to be the next devices to be released after the Z3: Big disappointment
    • There are no new and exciting camera modules

    Correct about JAT

I think DevAlphaX is just a new HD, 8974 based dev device. Could be a dev edition of Windermere. We've seen what it looks like last Months (large square screen, touch keyboard)

    Windermere/Ontario bands: GSM 850/1900/900/1800, HSPA 1/2/4/5/6/8/34/39, LTE 1/2/3/4/5/7/8/13/17/20/25/38/40/41

Either the SAR files are placeholders or they're both world phones.

So the Classic/Q20 is basically a Q10 with a larger screen and a key strip? I feel like all this will do is just stretch the existing 720x720px screen from 3.1" to 3.5". If anything, it will just be less sharp and make the device a little bigger.

It's hard to imagine an upgrade after a year and half doesn't have more significant changes.

I guess the specs are fine on it, but I'm hoping they at least upgrade the battery, if possible.

Question tho, is Verizon the only carrier that is willing to carry all further devices or do they have their own model each time due to their bands?

Also, I thought multi-touch was already implemented? With the two finger swipe down on keyboard, multi swipe to delete multiple words etc
Near field audio looks to be pretty awesome addition!

That's what it looks like so far, but I can't confirm it right now.
Khan is definitely a rebadged Q10 and Classic is only for NA... so my take is that they starter with Khan as a Q10 with trackpad and then decided to bring it to NA.

Mjolnir will never get released, but there might be new commercial devices built on top of the platform. It's early in the dev process, so we won't get anything before Q4.

Verizon and Sprint need their own models because of their networks.

Multi-touch is already supported, but not everywhere. Maybe I read it wrong, hoping we'll get things like multi-select, but maybe they're going to release devices without a touch screen and needed to introduce a variable to control those which have one.

I don't think so, but we'll see what happens with the next leak. 10.3.0.140 is an early build, very close to 10.2.2 which has been created for the Z3. Maybe things will look better in a proper 10.3 build.
The Q20 will be some sort of entry level qwerty if they still go ahead with Windermere and on top of that, they have lots of unsold Q10 that they might try to recycle.
I was hoping they would use the Z30 platform, since the GPU is underpowered in the Q10, but there is no sign of that yet.
