Winter came 2 Sundays ago on my TV. Great show.
Now back on topic, great to see the consistency with OS releases coming down the pipes from BlackBerry.
And....i hope to get a leak running soon. Cheers

What is very interesting here is the "Design Units"
Implement the user interface using the resolution independent "Design Unit" (DU) instead of pixels. A DU will have roughly the same physical size across different devices - as the pixel density of different screens varies, a DU will correspond to a different number of pixels on different devices. Using design units makes it easier to create consistent UIs across different form factors, resolutions and pixel densities, and prevents duplication of assets.
This doesn't necessarily confirm that the Z3 will be a different resolution as the Z3 is supposedly going to be released prior to 10.3 release, but it does seem to show that BlackBerry is moving towards that area where they can throw out any resolution phone and apps will still work. For now, this might just be something of convenience for app developers, or not? :O
Good because AIR sucks and is the reason the PlayBook sucks and it's the reason the Settings app in BB10 is slow.

What OS are you on?
The settings have been native since 10.2...
10.2.1. Hadn't paid attention since getting it but just checked on this and it is much snappier than 10.1. Which just proves my point that AIR sucks ;-).

yup that last one....couldnt see the connect to this release/update...meme for meme sake sucks....
Wow finally we have something to know about.
Can someone explain what android 4.3 would mean? And why they are not jumping to 4.4.2? Infact I forgot what 4.3 was for by Google.
If 10.3 looks to be more of architecture changes, is it safe to assume that we will see camera app etc in 10.2.2?

Maybe BB wants to keep SD cards working?
No, please, no leaks! They are bad for the company!
From the blog:
"I noticed that Adobe AIR wasn’t included, why is that?
We’d like to take this opportunity to let everyone know that the on-device Adobe AIR runtime will continue to be included as part of BlackBerry 10 OS version 10.3, but will no longer be included as an on-device runtime starting with BlackBerry 10 OS version 10.3.1."
--------------------------------------------------
overall very interesting and exciting that the 10.3 Beta is right around the corner... much earlier than I expected, but it's better to expect late and receive early than the opposite way (when it comes to these types of things at least lol)...
along with Android Runtime & Android services, which are the big ones, anyone else really curious what "App Colorization" or "Grid Layout" are??
hopefully app colorization is maybe an enhanced take on Accent Colors? since I notice that's no longer on the list.. surprised no one else noticed/mentioned that, as it would be disappointing if they took that off the roadmap... and Grid Layout, could we finally be seeing some of the ideas that Kevin has suggested per customizing your icons on the homescreen?
now I have another reason to look forward to May besides school being out! lol
Settings in BB10 is in Air only on 10.0 and 10.1. After that it's in cascades and fast
Excitement!!
Excited excited excited

All in all it is setting a very solid base for BlackBerry 10 platform.
Beyond this we will see some really good features / apps / etc. That's my observation.
Now all lies in how quickly it comes out. Even a leak, say by may end, which is stable would do enough branding for BlackBerry.

Hope someone can answer this.
What's Android Account support?
Does this mean support for GOOGLE PLAY account and Google PLAY services?
- Will Google Maps now work?
- What about Google NOW? and
- What about GMAIL app?
-------/--///-----------
I know BB employees also hang out in these forums. Maybe some knowledgeable employee will expand on the meaning of this announcement ?
No one is sure about it.
Even crackberry guys are guessing either Google support or a work around to use bbid instead of Google.
Read the detail explanation by crackberry on homepage.

In response to exactly the question(s) above, BlackBerry responded with the following:
So, no: Google Play Services is not coming to BB10 in 10.3.Thanks for your question. This will not affect Google accounts, it's for the account manager API.
I guess its going the nokia way... they replaced some of the optional dependencies of google products to Microsoft ID.. Its going to happen same..
my calculated guess...
