May is the Beta SDK, so the final SDK is June at the earliest (and September at the latest).

We will get 10.2.1.29XX or 10.2.2 with the Z3 launch and then 10.3 late July

That's just my opinion, but it kinda makes sense.

We?d like to take this opportunity to let everyone know that the on-device Adobe AIR runtime will continue to be included as part of BlackBerry 10 OS version 10.3, but will no longer be included as an on-device runtime starting with BlackBerry 10 OS version 10.3.1.

They're also updating the Share framework - I wonder if that means we'll be able to share to Native apps from Android ones now?

Interesting. Looks like they're on track for releasing 10.3 around the same time as 10.2 was released. Good to see that they are starting to get some consistency, should five shareholders some confidence.

Android applications that require access to an Android account will now be supported with BlackBerry 10 account integration.

We are working to upgrade the Android Runtime from Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2 to 4.3 The goal is to support all current features and APIs available on the Android runtime today and evaluate new features and APIs for inclusion.

Currently, Android applications that register with the share framework in Android will appear as share targets on the BlackBerry 10 share menu. This upcoming release will enable Android applications to share to BlackBerry 10 share menu targets.

Anyone else notice all the references to different form factors on the roadmap?

I smell tablet or partnerships so other companies can easily develop the OS for their desired form factor! Either way lots of talk about various form factors...see below for examples.

"New Asset Selector"

To make it easier to develop for various form factors, we are introducing new asset selectors. These selectors are based on screen size and pixel density, and are called "layout buckets" and "resolution buckets". A layout bucket is used for the UI implementation, and allows for different implementations for different screen sizes. The resolution bucket allows you to provide image assets optimized for different pixel densities.

"Design Units"

Implement the user interface using the resolution independent "Design Unit" (DU) instead of pixels. A DU will have roughly the same physical size across different devices - as the pixel density of different screens varies, a DU will correspond to a different number of pixels on different devices. Using design units makes it easier to create consistent UIs across different form factors, resolutions and pixel densities, and prevents duplication of assets.

Long story short, I'm thinking Chens plan is what many others have suggested/dreamed: a dual OS phone. Okay maybe not a full dual OS, but BB10 with all the security and able to run every app in the Google galaxy.

Target specific industries that want/need security, ie healthcare (see investment in NantHealth) finance, government and give them a high security device with high security messaging (eBBM), but also give them a phone that they can play on during those boring meetings (Android apps).

Just my thoughts
