For those having carriers who have not the slightest clue. I can say that back in November I walked into a Telus store in Montreal and asked them about BB10. All of the people working there already knew about it, and were told to expect devices late January/early February. I think in this aspect, RIM has improved a whole lot. Now, for some companies, such as USA mobile who have no idea, I think it's more of a carrier issue. As far as I know, all the carriers in town already know about it, and at least Telus, Bell, and Rogers are expecting the devices soon after launch.

I'm getting frustrated with the lack of real information from the US Carriers. Damn Canadians get first dibs on their product! :P

I am wondering about this too.

I was in a local T-Mobile USA store last weekend and I inquired about BB10. Of course the retail clerk knew nothing of it and quipped- "BB has been way behind the times". Now I know that statement is par for the course (and true btw) for most of these retail sales people but I wonder WHEN TMO corporate is going to get the word out to their retail staff on BB10 ??
I want to know too. Haven't heard or seen any official writing from T-Mobile.

    Sprint Confirmed

Sprint earlier this week confirmed that it will launch LTE smartphones running Microsoft's (NASDAQ:MSFT) Windows Phone 8 by the summer. Sprint is also going to support BB10, though the company did not say when it would do so. Trevor Van Norman, Sprint's director of device product marketing, told FierceWireless Sprint will support BB10. "We still think that's a viable OS," he said.

Van Norman explained that Sprint still has a base of BlackBerry customers who are interested in purchasing RIM's BlackBerry 10 devices. He said Sprint would be listed as a BlackBerry 10 partner during RIM's Jan. 30 announcement, but he did not provide any specifics about when Sprint would actually sell BB10 phones.

Yes Sprint confirmed, none have anything to say about launch dates but I believe we will see that from RIM on Jan 30th
This launch seems to be sizing up quite well!

Time to add Virgin Mobile in Canada to that list. Since they are advertising it on their home page and having a draw for free BB10 units, I'd say that's a pretty strong confirmation.

Sprint modified their answer to a sorta Yes and No. Yes we are, buuuuuuuuut, not until LATER in the year. What does that mean? Mr. Sprint - I'll be on another carrier if it's past, say, February.

I think Sprint has BB 10 in Jan/31/2013.

I visited the Vodafone store (uk) today. They said the store will be full with people & queue's outside the first day BB10 is available & that soon, they will be getting the plastic (dummy) BB10's in.

For anyone like me who is with Vodafone uk & wishing to upgrade early, we have to pay the rest of our contracts off entirely first. For me, it will be 12 months early.
Really? And you're going to do that? I could buy one outright for less than that. Oh well, I shall just watch you lot enjoy your new phones.

    Hey Banco,

Could you elaborate on this please.

I've been told my upgrade will cost 211+vat

No elaboration I can give you I'm afraid. How come you only have to pay 211 + VAT if you'd have to pay off 12 months of your contract? Sounds low?

    Unsure.

It may be that with Vodafone we can upgrade 75 days before the contract has finished. I'm not complaining though heh.

I didn't take into account the deposit for BB10 if I go for a lower monthly contract package. Still, with the deposit it should be a lot cheaper than a 500 + BB10 outright.

No, I wouldn't complain either! But I'm just adding up my monthly cost for the remainder of my contract and it'd come to around 500 or so. So that's out of the question for me.

I spoke to Vodafone a week or two ago & they gave me that figure. It may be good to ask them about yours the next time you speak to them.
