    Nextel service.

    1) When I use a motorola H721 bluetooth and have a DC conversation a icon shows up in the top left of my home screen right next to the profile icon. It is a little BB icon with sound waives coming off of it and a red line thru it. I assume it means that the DC speaker is off (since on bluetooth) but even when I turn off the bluetooth the icon is still there and the BB functions fine DC speaker and all. Have to change profiles to get it to go away.

    2) Anyway to have the phone still ring and or vibrate while the bluetooth is on?
I often set down the bluetooth while still on and miss calls. My i580 would still ring both the bluetooth and the phone.

    Thanks!

    1) yes your speaker is turned off, just hold the q button.

2)there is no option to change that, its a so called safety requirement..... ya i know all the other phones do it

Thanks Casper. I, too was wondering about that icon, but it didn't bother me enough to ask, just visually displeasing.

    Casper,
Thanks for the reply. Any idea why the icon stays even after the bluetooth has been turned off and the speaker is back on? it acts as if the icon is stuck.

You also have me curious about the safety feature. what is it keeping me safe from?

    Thanks for the info!

why it hangs, no clue....try a 5 minute battery pull.

we all were told that it had to do with police and safety. there is a few threads about it. the way we are looking at it is, if you dont turn you BT off on a stakeout or something your just, well........ thats what we were told. it sucks big time.

I would hope that our law enforcement officers who protect and serve arent using their BT in sensitive operational situataions.Im a heavy equipment operator, and do use mine at work. The DC is my work phone/radio as it is for alot of companies. I can imagine a brain surgeon doesnt use his in the operating room. But we all sure would like to have our BT ring and chime away when we we want it to. I fully respect all law enforcement officers, but if they are qualified to use deadly force then they should be qualified to turn off the bluetooth in operational situations.

maybe I dont follow you...but I think using bluetooth while on an assignment would be more discreet. Have an earpiece and talk on that vs waving a phone around with a backlit screen possibly giving off your location...and yes I know BT Headsets have a blue flashing light alot of times but they make things to cover those Duck Tape comes to mind in an "if all else fails" situation....anyhow this is sorta off topic so ill shut up...it just caught my attention
