Just checking, is that bank transfer as opposed to a credit card purchase?
Yes, a bank or money transfer. Banks won't protect you if you freely make a payment.

With credit card payments, there are some protections (certainly here in the UK) that makes the credit card provider jointly liable with the seller if the deal goes bad... you can always get your money back from either the seller, or the CC company.

Correct! Never do a bank transfer payment online.

Someone early on in this thread predicted that 2150 would be the number sold during this KS, that person may be spot on.

That was my very early projection. I had since revised it to 2325 +/- 75.

For what it's worth, my straight-line approximation predicts 2329 by day 30. Given the constancy of the past week (one Slim sold every two hours), I'm not going to be far off.

Did the clocks go ahead yet where you live? That could be a decisive influence.

The thing that is holding me back from ordering is not knowing how it will work, since I am on T-Mobile. I might order after hearing what carrier it works on. Maybe others also are hesitant to order until getting important user feedback.

Yes, funnily enough, that was my first thought too!

To take Chuck's point though: rule #1 of internet trade (for me) is never to pay for anything with a bank transfer. Even if I were interested in a Slim, I fer damn sure wouldn't be giving 200 bucks to some budget Chinese outfit in a way that would lose me all legal protections if the deal went bad.
well 200 isn't much to loose over speculation given how munch money was lost during the Gamestop trading incident.

None of my clients lost anything in Gamestop trading or BlackBerry for that matter / LOL

But it's a similar red flag that Unihertz is raising when you read them explain the reason for not accepting cards from Canadians to purchase devices on their website.

I'm not sure what the worst case scenario is. Not getting the phone you bought or the phones not working in Canada.
    I don't know there hardware.

Are Canadian financial institutions on a PRC blacklist? It seems similar to how you couldnt use American Express travellers cheques in Cuba; it was necessary to go to Thomas Cook for that.

My brother-in-law works for T-Mobile and he says the Slim will work on their network.
