Under my Blackberry Messenger a contact now shows in a new category "Unavailable" and they have a red X by their name...does that mean they are no longer a contact? I have seen "Unavailable" in contact's status before...but never under an "Unavailable" category....they are not showing under my "contact" category at all

Usually means that they set their status to unavailable because they are doing something. It can also mean that their phone is off, etc.

If an actual "Unavailable" category comes up, then the person intentionally
set their status to unvailable.

On OS 4.6 or higher on Blackberry's if a person sets their options to show
them on a phone call while on BBM, then anyone with 4.6 or higher will be able
to see the person "On The Phone" next to their name, but it won't create an
unavailable category. However, anyone using 4.5 or lower won't see the "On
the phone" message and instead will see the person drop into an unavailable
category until that person is off the phone.

thanks...I thought it meant they deleted themselves from my account so I deleted them as a contact OOPS oh well...they can resend their request

Nah, if someone deletes you they won't even be on your list anymore. And
vice-versa.
