heres the deal.... i was downloading version 5.0 for my storm and had to unplug the phone before the download was complete. needless to say it was a stupid move. i lost all my contacts and settings,however i can see the file that everyhting was saved to in the documents folder on my laptop. problem im having is that i cant open the file....anybody have any ideas

ABC Amber BlackBerry Converter will open IPD files if you need to open it.

Otherwise, BlackBerry Desktop Manager will restore the data to your device using the IPD file.

There are two way to upgrade a BlackBerry. If you were using the carrier web site to upgrade, it is simply a matter or restarting the upgrade, it will continue on and finish with a restore of your data.

If you were doing it manualy, the default location is .../Documents or My Documents.

Have a look at the BlackBerry Backup Extractor (blackberryconverter.com) or the BlackBerry Desktop Manager (blackberry.com) -- either might do what you need.
