I recently dropped my Z10 (I know, no protective case - duhh...) from full standing height onto the doorjam of my open vehicle door, from where it did a handspring out onto the pavement... in a rainstorm!

Long story short, no damage other than the external speaker wasn't working any more. Even after slowly drying it out, it was DOA.

So I looked up cell phone repair places on Google search, and one of the ones near the top of the search was VANCELL Phone Repairs in Vancouver, BC Canada. I looked at their website and found a button that said, "Repair Your Phone Today >"

I clicked on that and was taken through a few screens that gathered information about the damage, and when I finished that it took me to a screen that told me exactly how much it was going to cost me to fix it (a much smaller amount than I was expecting) and a statement that I could mail it in, and it would take the time of the return mail to get it back, or I could take it in and they would (get this...) FIX IT WHILE I WAITED!!

Well OK! The next day I swung by their shop and they did just that - fixed it while I waited. 40 minutes from the time I walked in the door until the time I paid the technician the exact amount guaranteed on the website the day before, and that included a few minutes of BS'ing with him about his incredible service.

I couldn't believe it... they 1) had the parts, 2) knew exactly how to install the parts, 3) actually put me at the top of the priority list as soon as I handed the busted phone over, and 4) did the job for the price quoted at the end of the website's diagnostic screens the day before!

    Cool huh?

    So they are located at:
    3292 E 29th Avenue, Vancouver, BC
    V5R 1W6
    778 859 3565 | info@vancell.ca

    and their website url is:

Vancouver Cell Phone Repairs | SmartPhone Experts | VanCell

    ...and I highly recommend them

The first gen BlackBerry 10 phones (Z10, Q10, and Z30) are very repair friendly. You could easily do all the repairs yourself with a short YouTube video.

If you had some HTC, IPhone, late model Samsung, or a Motorola, those phones come with a ton of glues, so you are better off taking them to a repair shop. But the early BlackBerry 10 phones can be repaired easily.

Dude the Z10 is so easy to take apart and repair yourself. You could have done it for less than a couple bucks. No one is impressed by that shop. Stop gushing over it lol.
