    right now i have a blackberry 8900. i only have a VOICE plan for it right now. i see the words uma on the top right corner with some pink bars what does that mean? also if i connect to the internet and i dont have a data plan it uses wi-fi right and i dont have to pay right for the wi-fi service right? like everything is used by wi-fi right?

    Yes but, like, you can't like use any BlackBerry service, like for example, like, BBM, like BIS, etc. Merry Christmas dude.

    the uma your seeing is the wifi attempting to use the uma voice calling service. if you were to turn of wifi you would see it switch back to your normal service bars. while it says uma it wont harm anything nor help anything. your most likely not paying tmobile for uma service. if you were you would have free calling on your phone via uma(wifi). and yes all data used during wifi is not being charged. that is only for web browsing though, calls/minutes/text will still be deducted as used. hope this helps. cheers.
