I was in France last year, and had absolutely no luck getting the UMA going. My understanding was that if I used UMA there would be no roaming charges.
However, when searching for a network, in the hotel, or train station or McDo's (Free Wifi in French McDo's) it found the network, only 2 bars, but would never successfully connect. Different types of error messages.
I'm going back in a few weeks, can I do something differently to get the UMA to work? Home carrier is TMobile. Thanks!
