- I am unable to locate my owners manual and have had no luck searching the forums.
I wonder if someone might explain the difference between UMA vs. uma and EDGE vs. edge.
Also, I'm not really clear about how to surf the internet when I'm not connected to my wireless network. I can sur fine at home, but am not able to surf when on EDGE.
Thanks in advance.05-08-09 10:52 AMLike 0 - Hi - I'll try. EDGE can send an receive e-mail, text, MMS, PIN and use browser
edge no high speed browser
UMA like EDGE and use the browser over WIFI and make calls over wifi
uma not really sure I think maybe no wifi browser?
Do you have a data plan? I do and set it to wifi preferred. So I think it looks for wifi first and if no wifi it connects via the regular cell network. If you have a data connection maybe you only have it set to wifi so when you are out and about and not on wifi you can't surf.
You can log on to T-Mobile or even on this forum and get the 8900 manual. It's under device help, 8900 and one of the first few threads. They'll whip you here if you don't search first05-08-09 10:42 PMLike 0
