I know t-mobile offers the UMA calling feature if you purchase the the whole "hotspot@home" package, but does At&t offer anything like that? is Wifi calling possible on the blackberry bold??

Nope.. This is a T-Mobile goodie for now.. UMA = Unlicensed Mobile Access, one of the main reasons T-Mobile is the major carrier provide this service is that they don't have a land line (home phone) infrastructure that this service would compete against. Companies like AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint.. all have a home land line service.
UMA works whether you have the "hotspot@home" or not, but if you don't have it UMA calls use your minutes at the regular rate. I use UMA in my house because the signal is better than T-Mo's, but I don't pay for hotspot@home because I never come close to using the minutes on my plan.
T-mo does offer "landline" service, BTW. It's more like Vonage though - you must have a broadband internet connection for the VoIP service. The T-Mo router they require you to use can also function as a "hotspot@home" device if you pay for that service, and it can handle two analog phone lines (2 SIM card slots).
