...or is there a slim chance one (I hope the physical keyboard device!) will run BlackBerry 10?

They're not confirmed at all. But if they do eventually exist, they will most definitely run Android, not BB10.

Did he actually quote "Android" in terms of the 2016 devices? Or just that there will be two new devices?

Yeah the two devices are definitely happening. Worst case scenario, the all touch may not happen but the one with the physical is definitely gonna happen. So we will be seeing a new device, if not two, this year.

In one of the interviews I watched Chen indicated that one new device was expected to be released this fall and the other sometime early in 2017.

As far as I can remember there was no mention of which OS they would use but I believe it will be on Android.

Umm... as posted several times already in this thread, and even linked a few posts up, Chen specifically said that they will be android phones.

It was definitely a "mention of which OS".

Why would he provide us anything else but android? Sales sucked for bb10 unfortunately. I will just use my passport til it dies. Hopefully it never does as I tried a windows phone and couldnt get used to it, hate android and wouldnt be caught dead holding anything apple except for eating the real thing

i'm really looking forward to the two new devices.
hopefully at least one of them will be an Android, physical keyboard handset.
sick of touchscreen and looking to replace my OPO but the Priv is way too expensive.

I think many here would also love to see a PKB device with full app support.

For me, the ONLY thing I care about at this point is a goddamn TRACKPAD!!!

I have been a BB user forever, and have owned every flagship product virtually the day they came out. That one with no trackpad (Q10 maybe? I don't recall -- guess I have a mental block for self-preservation) was so unbelievably annoying! After years of having a trackpad (or, before that, um, a "trackball"), I likened the need to do all cursor-position selection and text editing commands on-screen with your finger to playing a video game in which the machine wins and you lose most of the time. What an insanely inefficient step backwards for the "productivity tool" for busy professionals!

So, here I am now, after having recently taken the plunge and gotten a PRIV to replace my Classic. Yes, I'm as frustrated as anyone with the less efficient OS experience, and am just as thrilled as anyone with the larger screen and the robust ecosystem.

But how on Planet Earth does anyone expect to be even 5% as efficient in actually using this thing day in and day out with a lot of typing with no trackpad!?!?

So, I'm just watching and hoping that the next BlackBerry phone will be an Android phone (I'm in the camp that says there will be no more BB10 and we just need to accept that and move ahead with our lives) and that it will have a PKB and a goddamn TRACKPAD so I can get WORK done!

Footnote: Yes, I realize the keyboard on the PRIV does somewhat double as a trackpad, but it's not even close to having a dedicated trackpad. Not even remotely close. And it has a mind of it's own and often just messes me up and costs me even more time to correct what it did that I didn't want it to do. Dedicated trackpads just work!
