I just registered with Tutanota. Pretty good privacy as far as email is concerned. They offer 1gig free email. I had to download the actual App through SNAP. But once I did that...the App and email works as it should. It's pretty basic, but works. I have yet to try it from the Hub...but I will let you know how that goes. I'm using Att Passport.

    Cheers

Ok, I emailed Tutanota. No Blackberry App, but it might be in the works. I was unable to get info for" advanced settings" in order to integrate it in the HUB. So long story short...no notifications, so you just have to sign in and check it frequently like back in the old old days:-).

I know they have Web based mail. I want pop3 or imap, contacts and calendar sync. All private.

I want the same thing. But like I said, they don't offer it yet from my email conversations with them, but might in the future...

I am bumping this post cause their service really evolved well
You can check their review at anonymster.

I've heard the new version which is going to be released soon is going to feature a full text editor as it is plain text right now.

    Cheers

Recently I've been researching to find a secure email provider. I've grown tired of Gmail. I was pleasantly surprised to find this thread, although fairly old with very few posts. This happens to be one of the providers I was looking at. The other is Proton email. Unlike Proton, Tutanota is able to encrypt messages to and from non Tutanota users. I believe it also encrypts, name, subject and body, where Proton does not. Also, if you chose the paid version, and do not feel comfortable giving your credit card information , you may be able to pay with Bitcoin. Proton does accept Bitcoin as well. Still no app for BB, but is available for iOS and android.
